I just recently got around to uploading some of the pictures I took. I wish I had my camera when I went home because the western part of the state got hit much worse, believe it or not.


You can see the top of the trees completely snapped off.






Normally these branches aren't anywhere near the ground.

As much fun as no power in 0 degree weather is, I'll be alright if I never live to see another ice storm in my lifetime. I hate to be greedy.
Oh me too. Anyone want the next ice storm? Step right up.

Really good pics, Nick.

I thought one of the scariest sounds was that of the ice sliding off the trees in gigantic chunks as it began to thaw, then slamming into the ground.

Never heard anything like it before, hope to never hear it again.

I forgot about that. We had sub-freezing temps for a while, so at first it was just the sounds of the trees themselves snapping. A few days into the clean-up, we began to get more sun and warmer temps, so you'd be out dragging limbs and hear ice falling (and more limbs). You always had to keep an eye up, and a hard hat helped.
