I posted yesterday about a state grant reviewer no being able, apparently, to figure out the length of a trail when we reported in our cost estimate detail that the 10 foot wide trail was 12,000 square feet. We always estimate our cost in square feet.

I had to tell him the trail would therefore be 1,200 linear feet long.
Then late yesterday, he again email me telling me that our estimated amount must be incorrect. Evidently he had multiplied the unit cost per square feet times the linear foot total I sent him.

Then I had to reply and explain that if you convert the square feet to linear feet you also have to convert the square foot unit price into a linear foot unit price therefore the total cost we originally submitted for the trail was correct.

Now waiting to see if he understood that bit of math.
