You may remember a few days ago I posted about a security guard at the college said Barney was "aggressive andtried to bite him"

Since Tal strained (thinking positively!) his knee, I have been taking Barney by himself to play and walk. Today we went to the farm store, and it was Barney's first time in a retail store! He did great. Not quite as, um, enthusiastic as Tal, but he did really well.. especially around all that dog food and toys! Anyway, of course I couldn't resist getting some toys for them!

When we were in the checkout line, lady in front of me asked me what Lab-mix was he? I have no idea...we just know he is mom is Lab! And the lady at the counter reached down to pet him and he just wagged his tail. I let her give him a treat! The man behind me was really nice to him too. Barney just sniffed and wagged his tail. Anf as soon as the lady at the checkout said how well behaved he was, he was front paws on the counter wanting another treat

So much for aggression.

Glad Barney past the test! Sammi does really well in the same circumstance but I have to say one day I took her by my work, everyone wanted to come out and say hi too her, she loved every min. of it until the Security Guard came up- now this is one of the nicest men I know- but he is a big man, was dressed all in black and Sammi growled at him and her hackles went up. I had never seen her react quite like that before. He was great, took his time and let her come to him, luckily he is a dog person- it didn't take long and she was friends with him also. Guess I'm trying to say that maybe it was the interaction this security guard had with Barney, and he just didn't know how to handle it. I don't know with out being there its hard to say! Either way I'm glad Barney did well today!
