I always pay the bills on time. Usually enough ahead of time that I know they will be posted to the account well ahead of or at least on the very date they are due.

This month I had to postpone the Cox (cable/internet/landline) bill until next Friday. Yes, it will be a little over two weeks late (this in itself makes me cringe) but I'll just pay the little late charge and go on with life. Except that today the cable service craps out! Now, even though we know for a fact it's someone tapping into our cable (we went through this once last year) I take it as a sign of "naughty girl you'd better keep paying those bills ON TIME!"

Doggone Catholic guilt complex, I guess. 8)

I'm like you Nance, I try to be very cautious to pay bills ahead of time, that's how I budget, but sometimes something happens and it makes the budget go bezerk. Hope you get your cable service back.

See, I would twist that around differently. I'd call the cable company and tell them I'm not paying my bill until they take care of the person tapping into my cable. :D
