Hi. I am Kelly and my lab is Diego. He is 6 1/2 years old. He was diagnosed with diabetes 6 weeks ago so everyday is a new adventure adjust to his new lifestyle as a diabetic.
He is a wonderful dog and I am hopeful that we'll be able to get his diabetes regulated so he can enjoy a long and happy life.

Dogs (and people) can live long, active lives with diabetes. Sometimes it is hit and miss with insulin dosage. Diet is very important. Kudos to you for making a commitment to work on this. One of my friends had a diabetic Lab. She gave her dog some canned green beans with every meal. It added fiber to the diet and provided more energy over a longer period of time.
