I bought a rice cooker. The instructions had obviously been written by someone not exactly familiar with the English language. One memorable line was "Please do not impact upon the rice cooker, or drop it down."

They put stuff like that on the label because idiots who use the cooker do something stupid with it (like try to take a bath with it for example) then sue the company (actually I guess it would be their relatives sueing the company in that example ). The company is just trying to CYA in advance. They have to think of every stupid thing someone would do with it and put it on the label to proect them legally.
