I posted a while ago about how my lens for my Nikon D40 (digital SLR) got messed up and I don't think I'm going to be able to fix it. 
So, I'm trying to find a new lens that I can buy for an affordable price. I'm not sure if I should get the same lens I've had before (18-55mm f/3.5-5.6) or if I should upgrade while I'm at it for about the same price?
Suggestions/advice? I don't want to get anything crazy, as I like to easily take it with me places, but I wouldn't mind a lens with better zoom.
