Long story, short, I recent watched a Retriever Trial. Needless to say, I am hooked. There is sooo much I need to learn, to say the least. My question is, where do I start? Can someone recommend some good resources?
I would suggest joining a Hunting Retriever club and going from there. There are a lot of knowledgeable people in the clubs that are more than willing to get a newbie addicted!
There are also on-line message boards that are interesting to go and read,
Try The 'Fuge and scroll down to the Gun Dogs board
I got to go to part of an Evan Grahm seminar and I think that he has a pretty good system and would recomend it. Of course I am pretty new at this stuff but his work did seem to make sense to me and the pros I train with while not using his system are doing the same things.
