I usually use Heartguard, however, wondered if it would be ok to try proheart TABLETS? Or should I go for Revolution? I have some concerns. Proheart is Moxidectin which I KNOW in horses you have to be careful with weight. Has anyone used this or heard NO WAY....don't use it?

Revolution has some concerns because it is a broad spectrum....well, it didn't do a DARN THING for the ear mites on my kitties (despite numerous expensive applications). That being said....I also need flea and tick control.

Soooooo, what do you recommend or use each year? Just wondering if there is a compelling event to save some money.....or if the savings actually are not worth it :)

I thought Proheart all products were recalled.

I use Interceptor, year around.

I thought it was just the injectible? Not tablets.
interceptor here, year round too.
For those that do year around.....do you test every year?
Heartguard only in the summer months. Frontline plus for fleas and ticks only in the summer months.
I also use Interceptor year round. Interceptor also covers whipworms, and I don't think Heartgard does.
Bear - Heartgaurd / Deacon - Interceptor (Collie breeds can have ivermectin sensitivity)
Interceptor here, too, every month.
None.....since '98.

(Since Talley the Pharaoh Hound was diagnosed with lymphoma-and they both had been taking Heart Guard and every 'booster' know to man routinely - when one keeps loosing dogs before at least 12 years of age, makes one wonder what the hell is going on. ??? )

Every April we go in for a heart worm check and complete blood panel: so far Auggie has always been negative for heart worms. Her heart worm check and "systems test" :p appointment is scheduled for later this month.

Same for Dexter.
For those who use Interceptor- Do you get it through your vet or online?

I'm trying to decide what to use for Tuck this year- our vet only offers two or three different kinds and I don't think Interceptor is one of them.
We were using Heartguard Plus but when we started Finn on his they told us they had switched to Interceptor. I was kind of worried but now that I know so many lab owners use it I feel better. We have always purchased ours from the vet because they price match.
