Golden save owner's life by performing heimlich!

Nice story, but this:

CALVERT, Md. - Toby, a 2-year-old golden retriever, saw his owner choking on a piece of fruit and began jumping up and down on the woman's chest. The dog's owner believes the dog was trying to perform the Heimlich maneuver and saved her life.

Come on? dogs don't know how to perform the Heimlich maneuver so I am not sure what she is thinking. More likely the dog thought it was a great game...either that or he wanted the fruit.

I agree, this is a bit of a stretch. He wanted the fruit.

HA! What a great story reminds me when my dog accidently bit me last fall...he had no idea why mom stopped playing and ran in circles around me with a big grin and wagging tail all the while my hand was dripping blood. But I think I will give the dog the benefit of doubt, some dogs are smarter than others, alas mine is not one of them.
