I see dogs do it al the time, but the few times I have seen a horse do it, I always thought, 'Is it really worth it horsey? It looks like so much work to toss that body around like that, and why?'
Granted we had just come in from a ride and he was sweaty, but it feels good to them and helps get the bugs off. Plus they know they piss us off when we spend an hour grooming them and they can undo it in a matter of minutes.
At least he did it in the dirt and not in a horse apples pile....just wait until he is trying to keep the flyings and mosquitoes off this summer...mine always found the stinky stuff to roll in.
Come back winter when they are all rugged up ......that was a joke..................sort of anyway !
