I was wondering what is the least toxic flea and tick protectant for dogs? I have read that the pesticide in Frontline, Advantix ect. can be absorbed into the skin af both dogs and humans... Are there any less toxic alternatives which actually work?

Thanks.

my vet always referred me to frontline if you choose to go with one or the other. I'm not a fan of Advantix since it has Permethrin. not that Frontline chemicals are best but if you need one of those two frontline is the way to go.

Or naturally feed your dogs garlic on their food. I can't recall if that's for fleas or ticks too.

Yikes - I think garlic is a no no for dogs! Don't do this!

I apply Frontline religiously ever month and use a flea and tick collar. Living in South Florida, all year long is flea and tick season. I try not to be late with the Frontline, not even by a few days.
