We have always used Frontline for fleas/ticks. Even though I make sure to apply it directly to his skin, it still seems that it gets soaked up by his fur leaving a wet, oil slick on his upper back. Is it just me or is that how it works? Is there anything that isn't quite so messy?

Remy doesn't have that much of a problem, but that happens with Brooklyn. We have to leave her downstairs the night we apply so it doesn't get all over the comforter. :(

After we got a bad batch of frontline and got completely infested with fleas  , we switched to Comfortis. Simple, easy pill that they readily eat. No muss, no fuss.

Downside is that it is for fleas only....not ticks. But ticks just have never been a problem. I check them regularly for ticks. So far, I'm way more than happy with the Comfortis.

That happens to me sometimes too. I do it the same every time but once in awhile I will see this "slick" spot on them. It is usually dry by morning. :)
