So...now that the initial onslaught of friending is over for me since I've been on for awhile I'm noticing the random friend requests I'm getting are ...well, random. Do you have a criteria for your "friends"?

I don't care that we graduated the same year. I don't care that you worked with my husband. I don't care that you are friends with a guy I went to college with. I am not on Facebook to help you reach your goal of 500 friends. I can't stand these people who are friending just to get their numbers high.

Hubby's so funny...he keeps getting friend requests from high school classmates that he fondly remembers as "tools" or scumbags. Ignore!

I friend anyone who asks I would feel bad if it hurt someone's feelings. So even fremenies are friended.

Then I would message them and ask them who they are!

I have a lot of people on my list that I haven't talked to in years, but it doesn't really bother me. I just like to look at their pictures when I'm bored.

But I do deny people I don't know or don't like at all. My old boss who I absolutely couldn't stand added me and I smiled as I hit "Ignore."

I got about 5 of those in a row one day. I figured they were spamming for something. I don't friend anyone that I don't know. And then I "unfriend" some that I do.

Same with messaging. I message you. You message me.

I only accept "Friend" requests of people I know (i.e. worked with, went to school with, etc.). If it is a friend of a friend who I barely know or know casually or something like this one:

Nope! Those get IGNORE quicker than anything!

Be careful friending people on FB that you don't know. There have been some virus scares due to this that I read late last year. Definitely only friend people that you know... that is what I do. I have also 'unfriended' people from school who sent me a request, I wrote them a thingy saying "hi how have u been" and they never reply even though they update their "facebook status" regularly. Pfft. DELETE!
