Eeeeew eeeeeeeew *hurk* eeeeeew!!!

I've only ever found one on Henery, it was just crawling around on his chest. I had to go put rubber gloves on and take it off, I nearly puked.

Poor Jeebies!!
I know! It was latched onto her ear, Felicia, and was engorged because it was biting her. :( It was really, really, really, REALLY disgusting!!!!!!!! I pulled it off with one of Lanna's wipes and didn't know what it was until I saw it! Luckily we had some spare Revolution that we didn't give her at the end of last season so we put that on her. She is off to the vet tomorrow!
Icky!! I thought there was one one Abbey's ear before, but it was a false alarm.
oh boy, I've probably pulled 100 of these of all my pets. Annoying!
What do you do for first aid after you've pulled it off? Can they cause an infection?

Mine have never had one ............. yet.

Eeee I know :( ...it's so gross and it's still haunting me!
I am almost certain she picked it up in my sister's backyard running around with little Winston. She has a huge yard with lots of bushes and things and they were out there yesterday for a long time with her hubby while I was inside enjoying a birthday dinner with my sister. What's worse is that poor Jeebies would have picked it up on her birthday! What a mean birthday gift ...
Either that or today because she was out with him again briefly in the backyard again. Hopefully Winston doesn't have any!

Garth...they can cause an infection if pieces of them are left on the dog...and also if they bite and they have something...they are known to carry Lyme disease for example. I don't know much else...I'll probably find out more from the vet because I'm taking her in since she was bitten.
Laika walks a lot in the forest the past periode, so .. She always comes home with some of this little animals :)
I've never had any on my labs, but I've taken a couple off of our Basset Hounds when we had them and one off our Beagle way back when.

I remember my son had a tick once when he was about 4 or 5 years old. And a couple of year ago, I had one on my back...right on my shoulder blade. Talk about GROSS!!!!!
