It's thick or thinner if you get the low fat, kinda a vanilla taste and I sprinkle cinnamon or nutmeg on top of mine.

That would be disgusting. True eggnog has bourbon.

Seriously though, it depends on region/preference. Some people use rum, some people use brandy, others use bourbon/whiskey.

Love it with rum, but try not to have it more than once. Some years I don't have it at all. I refuse to buy it at my house because I'd drink the whole jug and it's very fattenning. But if I'm offered it somewhere else I'll have one drink.
