She's at least 28, possibly 29. Winter is hard on the old ones. She's like a 100 year old person.

She isn't acting ill at all though she's losing her sight some, which is normal. She's eating great, which is good.

With the old ones though, just like dogs, they can be fine one minute and down the next. Like Remy. She was fine at 5 AM and ate, then at 7 AM when we woke up she had suffered a stroke or something and had to be put down. You just never know with oldsters.

The oldsters hang onto their coat a bit longer than the younger ones. Dot hasn't even started to blow out yet. It was almost 70 the other day and won't get out of the 30's today. So her body knows this and will hang onto it a bit longer.

Gracie is blowing now. Toby isn't yet but he doesn't carry the coat like Dot does.

Don't be sad, Amy. She's lived a good long life. She has her daughter Gracie with her and now Toby too. She's pretty fortunate to have known love her whole life. Not all horses do.
