The dog name thread made me think of this. Do you remember all of the dogs you had when you were growing up? The names and what they were? Maybe it's just me that had so many, since we lived on a farm.

I remember :
Tinkerbell (bassett hound)
Tammy (yellow lab)
Snapper (black lab)
Biff (chihuahua)
Redmond (irish setter)
Aries (german shepard pup)

Tink and Tammy lived until old age - man I loved those two!! Snapper got hit by a car, Biffy got run over by my Dad on the big tractor, Redmond was a spaz and was sent back to wherever we got him, Aries was run over by my grandparents in our driveway.

OK now I'm depressed. :'( :'( :'(

Ben, yellow lab. My parents had him before they had me so he WAS the dog of my childhood even though he died when I was in kindergarten. He was only 7 and just died in his sleep one night. I may have only been 5'ish, but I remember what an awesome dog he was. Or maybe those are just stories that have sunk in and have become my 'memories'.

Same time we had Ben we had Candy. She was a Dalmatian, Brittany Spanial mix. She looked like a Brittany but all of her splotches were black. She was so lonely after Ben died. She had to be put down because she became completely lame in her hips. She couldn't even stand up.

We went dogless for a really long time. Then when I was high school we got Max, a psychotic Lhasa apso. That dog was not right in the head. We loved him though. He lived a good long time and just died a couple years ago.

Blackie - a black cocker spaniel when I was too young to remember much
Pogo - a yellow lab mix that ventured to our house from a neighbors and the neighbors just said; keep him.

my mom was not an animal person AT ALL!

the one I remember the most was Spot; a border collie mix that my grandmother had.

We had Champ, a GSD and lab mix. A great dog who ate any vegetable we could slip him from the table, including the dreaded peas, and he showed up at my school every day at lunchtime to see me. He'd hang out and play with all the kids and then run home when the bell rang for us to go back to class.

He died at 12 during an episode of M*A*S*H.

And a pile of cats, Jingles, Baby, Big Orange, Opie and Henry. All of them 20 lb. orange cats. You could barely tell them apart.

Sadly NONE. My mum and dad arent dog people and we always had cats, even though they have a dog now it was more of a protect our property thing as my dads van had been broken into alot and tools stolen.

I always wanted a dog and used to have to walk the neighbours dog as a child. Soon as I moved out we got Penny :D

We had:

Bo...he was a psychotic cocker spaniel that was given to us by my dad's friend when I was about 4. He would randomly attack my brother and I when we were playing with toys on the floor or if we were walking he would leap at us and grab onto our clothes. He didn't last very long...my parents even brought a trainer into the house and it didn't help. That dog seriously had a screw loose!

Casey (golden retriever)~ We bought him when we moved into our current house (almost 15 years ago). He died 2 years ago at 13, and I still miss him every day.

Then of course we currently have:
Abby (7-yellow lab)
Molly (3-black lab)

Sedrick (bassett) As a tot I used to "walk" him in just a diaper and was brought home by the cops more than once, they knew the dog because he always ran away!
Fang (poodle) mom got him as "the babys dog" when she found out I was on the way! He passed when I was 18!
Saysee (GS).
