It seems like not everyone who was on the other forum is here. It used to be if I missed a day on JL the threads were on page 4 by the time I tried reading all the new ones. What do you think? Threads never used to stay on the first page as long as they do now.

I think this is the first time I've been here in .... several days? Maybe a week? I'm not sure. My interest began waning on the old board, but this new board is just the nail in the coffin. I hate to complain about it though because there's no way to please everyone.

So I spend my time doing something else.

Yep- but it will pick up again, might just take a while. Things ebb and flow, and this forum will do the same. I know that I was trying to spend less time here, and this seemed a natural time to do it. I feel bad for all the information that isn't here anymore, and there are some bugs to work out on this board. Life will go on.

Seems quite a bit less active to me, too. But having been through so many board/server changes over the years I notice that there's always a disruption to the established rhythm of the place. It will set itself again. And look! Buddysmom is posting again! That's a GREAT thing!

Yup. It's definitely been quiet over here.
It kind of becomes a feedback loop: It's quiet so people don't visit as often because there aren't as many new posts, and there aren't as many new posts because people don't visit as often...

i'm really sick of the political bantering back and forth and my opinion is better than yours posts......i can watch talking heads for that.

I really hope you are right, Nance. It seems a lot quieter around here; sometimes my footsetps echo in the hallway as I go from room to room. There are so many things I miss from the old board, like the stickies we had in certain sections, some of the child boards, etc. I'm trying hard to like this one, I guess it will grow on me.

The weather is getting a little nicer, the days are slightly longer and I'd rather be outside. I'm spending less time on the internet in general.

I also think the server being on the fritz gave people the opportunity to discover other things.

It's good to step away from the keyboard but it's nice to know it's there.

It does seem slower, i.e. less posts. But it may be due to switching the board, or that there are just other competing things going on right now. We'll just have to settle in, hang some curtains, and make it more homey.

There are still people posting on the other forum too. There are newbies arriving and introducing themselves and all that. When will that one be an archive only? That will help drive some traffic here.
