A zero-turn 61 inch mower was delivered today. The pastures are looking good, but the bank account is decimated.

I am going to have to practice in the pasture because any tree within 10 feet of me is in danger when I'm mowing with it. And backing up is impossible.

Any pros or cons to be noted about the zero-turn?

We have the cub cadet zero turn mower. I love it! My Husband hardly ever gets a chance to drive it. We have a lot of trees and with pratice you can get really close. Also it is fast. We do our 1+ acre in about an hour/ 1.5 with baging. That alone is worth the extra cost. We have time to do other things and can do the whole lawn after work if we need to.

I mow a work with a John Deere 935 72" front mower. Nice machine. If you make 2 passes around the the edge then when you got back and forth you wont miss any spots. According to the turf course I just attended mowing in a diagonal pattern is the most pleasing to the eye and the mow pattern should be changed each time to avoid mow tracks.

Enjoy your new mower!! I love to mow it looks so nice when you are done.:)
