I was walking Lucky along the sidewalk by our yard, as she's suppose to have 4-6 short walks a day while she's recouping.
This elderly lady comes walking down the road with her...I dunno what it was...some fuzzy little yappy dog. So I move Lucky into the yard as we're walking, one to make way for the little old gal, and two to avoid her and this little dog playing because I don't want her to get injured.
Did I mention the little yappy one was NOT on a LEASH? My city has a leash law!
Well little yappy dog comes BOUNDING into our yard towards Lucky and I, yapping ferociously if you could call it that.... I'm putting myself between Lucky and the dog, again to insure she's going to be okay and two to make sure she doesn't get annoyed with the brute and bite him. Lucky is just sitting there behind me with her head cocked to one side like "WTF is that thing?!"
The old lady just stands there on the sidewalk chuckling "He won't hurt you, he just wants to say hello and play." This was NOT a friendly bark he was giving.
I calmly bit my lip and replied "I'm sure he just wants to play but my dog just had surgery and she's not suppose to run around and play or anything. Could you please call your dog back out of my yard?"
She claps her hands and calls the dog....which Ignores her and keeps yapping at us and jumping around. Lucky continues to just stare at this little dog. So I back us up and try to walk her around to another side of the house and he just keeps yapping and walking towards us. I put Lucky back in a sit and just stare at the lady who is making NO move towards the yard or her dog. She just says "He's not going to hurt you!"
Through clenched teeth I say "Ma'm if it was MY dog jumping and barking at you, you would be calling her a vicious brute!" "Well yes because your dog is much bigger than my little guy here." Then as if to make a point Happy, who is in the house lets out a resounding "WOOF!" and she jumps. I said "He just wants to say hello." She chuckled and attempted to call her dog once again who is now jumping on my leg trying to get around me to Lucky who is still just staring at it like "Mom what IS that?!"
Finally I tell Lucky "STAY" and drop her leash. Grab the yappy dog by his collar and haul him back to his owner myself. Who promptly picks him up and starts comforting him about the "Mean Lady!!!!"
I go back to Lucky and pick up her leash and head inside, helping her up the stoop. As I look back I see her put her little dog down who proceeds to pee on a bush in my yard and then POOPS and SHE LEFT IT THERE!!
OHHHHHH I am so mad!!!
If I ever see her out again I'm following her home and then reporting to Animal Control her lack of LEASH FOLLOWING!!!
