The "b" key stopped working on my Dell Inspiron/E1505 last weekend. I took it to a shop yesterday and got a call today that it couldn't be fixed, I needed another. Did I want them to order a replacement ($90+ .5 hour labor costs)?

I said No, bought a full size keyboard with USB plug ($30), and brought it home. Called Dell and ordered a replacement (about $72 incl.S&H).

Are these difficult to install? Don't they snap in and out? Anything to be especially careful with or should I take it to the shop?

Re: Computer Laptop question: how hard to replace the keyboard? An easy DIY, Y/N

It depends in the computer. My mac keyboard could be replaced by an 12 year old. I would assume they all make things in a similar fasion
