My DH has an allotment (piece of land for growing fruit/veg) and this weekend we are getting 6 rescued battery hens to put on it..we have a fox proof house and run for them and I cant wait!

Some of these girls come out bald and some cant even stand so Im not sure what state they will be in.

Nothing cuter than baby chicks. :) We had chickens growing up - my parents still have them. Once when he was little, my brother got pecked on the nose by one so he hates them now! lol
We wont be having babys as we arent allowed a cockerel because of the nearby residents. The chickens we are getting are about 18 months old, lived in a cage size of an A3 piece of paper, 3-4 hens to a cage, stood on wire in the dark to keeo them quiet. They eat one end and lay the other end its so so sad

aww...poor chickens. :( I'm glad they're coming to you. My parents have a lot of acreage so our chickens run all over the place and go to their coops at night. It was funny how scared the dogs were of them. :)
