So I have recently changed max's food from puppy chow to Diamond large breed puppy food. I have read some reviews and heard some more people say that diamond is a good brand. He never had very good looking stools from that puppy chow, and now it seems like they are worse then before. very runny all the time. Smells completly horrible too. I changed the food over very slow over about a weeks time. He has been on completly diamond food since friday. Any ideas on what i should do, just wait longer?

i tried diamond naturals back when i was trying to switch max's food and didnt have much luck with it. his coat stayed dull, skin itched all the time, runny stools, etc. it just wasnt what worked for him. everybody has their own opinion on the best dog food but what may work for their dog may not work for yours. i would say continue your search for a new food cause it sounds like you did everything right as far as switching slowly, you should NOT be dealing with loose stools still. i ended up feeding 4health lg breed and so far my dogs have done great on it for about 3 mnths. now. like i said though your just going to have to keep trying till you figure out what works. good luck.

A switch to a new food for a sensitive puppy should take more than a week IMO. Also any physiological change due to food will take several weeks to show up. Don't expect miracles in a few days.

Well it has got worse today. He had diarepha in his kennel last night, was covered in it this morning. i am surprised he did not bark or whine at all. anyways i got that all cleaned up and he started to have it again on my kitchen floor so i brought him outside and he finished. not healthy looking at all. I dont know what to do, switch back for now?

hello brady, you might try to feed her boiled chicken breast with white rice for now and then slowly introduce her back to the dog food (slowly increasing the portion of her dog food everyday). I had diarrhea issues with my puppy too but it was because i fed her some natural apple sauce (didn't know it would affect her that bad, but the chicken and rice REALLY HELPED). good luck, i know how u feel, but just make sure you take her out at nights so she doesn't mess in her crate (we ended up taking our maddy like every 2 hours the first night).
