Hey,
I have just finished the changeover in switching Oakley to the Acana adult formula. She was eating Nutrisource SuperPerformance and she really didn't need the "super" part. She was just busting with energy but I chose it because it didn't have barley in it, barley free is hard to find. I talked to the owner of the store where I buy her food and she recommended the Acana. I read about it and really liked what I read.
Long story short, I am really pleased with what it is doing for Oakley so far. Good coat, good energy, good poops.

I better go, she's telling me she needs out to pee :)

Good to know... I have Rowan and Bentley currently on Orijen and they have done well. Apparently ACANA is a tad cheaper. I plan on looking into it this week.
Thanks for the info!!

I'm not criticizing the food at all, I haven't looked into it aside from noticing the grain inclusion. I just mentioned it because if you're feeding orijen (as Patty does), chances are you've decided you don't want to feed grains to your dog, in which case the Acana might not be for you.

Ok Kate, I see.
I wasn't feeding Orijen. I would like to but it is a tad out of my price range. I wasn't happy with the Nutrisource SuperPerformance. I just found that she was very edgy and I couldn't tire her out no matter how hard I ran her. There really wasn't any need to have her on a high performance food. The reason she was on it was that I finally found a food that didnt' have barley after the change in Canidae. That was the only one I found. Then when the Acana came out, I did some reading on it and liked it.
I am pleased with it so far.

I called Orijen yesterday and there is about 5-7% difference in protein levels. The grains they mentioned to me are oats.
I'm looking at switching to a slightly lower grade of food because with my dh not working right now and EI having been exhausted.... paying over $60 for a bag of food that doesn't last a month is a little difficult to maintain financially right now.
