We got 6 inches of light fluffy snow yesterday and we got out and broke some trail on skis.

How cold is it?

I used to wear a leather face mask when downhill skiing in Colorado and the temps got down to face hurting zero or below -- sure wish I knew where it is now, I'd use it for XC skiing in low temps.

It was about 19*, but the wind was blocked by the trees. Quite a bit more chilly when we came out of the woods.
I find a balaclava indispensible. It wicks if you are sweating, yet the thin layer works very well keeping the chill of my neck. It is cheap from Sierra Trading Post: $6.95
