I am trying to write a poem/inspirational message to our son who is graduating in May from High School.

Do you know of any websites that may point me in the right direction?

Or another idea, Shel. When Michael & Jared graduated college a couple of months ago we wrote them each a personalized "letter", just saying how proud we were, listing all of their accomplishments, wrote about their special personality traits, their bright and promising future, etc. They really liked that.

I like Amy's idea.

Much more personal.

He'll save it forever.

Is he going on to college, Shel? What does he want to do in the real world?

Against my constant nagging he does NOT want to go to college. He has been taking welding classes the last 2 years so he is leaning towards that profession for the time being. I am sure it will change he is a teenager!!

There is absolutely nothing wrong with learning a trade. As a welder, there is good chance he'll never be without work and he'll earn a decent living. There is a huge shortage of trades people and a glut of English majors. Guess which ones will be working in their chosen field?

Good for him! Nothing wrong with that. There will always be demand for a welder - especially if they build all of these bridges they're promising. :)

Cam is so right. All the trades are short on people as the older workers retire. There is a high demand for trade jobs! And they make good money.

Some of these are pretty lame, but I like some of them.
