UPDATE
I did get a very generous offer from a member here to foster this boy. It would have been a great place for him to rest, relax and recover. The person who is listed as the contact in the email just let me know that the lab will be going to a rescue in Youngstown Ohio. They are working on transport right now. I ask her to pass on my contact info so if the Ohio group found him to be too much for them, they could contact me as a backup plan. Thank you all for being here to lend your support and prayers. I'll keep you posted if I find out any more info.

Every so often there comes a face that just screams for help. If this boy does not beg for love, I don't know who does. I have 8 dogs coming in this next week and have absolutly no place to put this boy or I would be on my way tomorrow. If ANYONE can either rescue or adopt this poor fella, I will pay his pull fee and donate $100 toward his vet care. Here is the email and contact info I received tonight.

Available for a limited time at the Paulding Ohio Dog Shelter; 45879 zipcode.

One male not neutered black Lab, picked up as stray, and never claimed. Maybe 1-2 years old max. Very nice dog considering the shape he is in. Looks purebred.

This pic was taken 5 days after he was picked up. I was over at the pound today and asked the DW for me to try rescue. We are small county pound with a very low adoption rate, and only 12 runs.

Rescue is this dogs only hope. $25 pull fee, they are not on petfinder and no vetting is done.

I can get this dog pulled and to a vet. I can also transport one hour in any direction.

Permission to cross post please!

If I were closer I would. Who could do such a thing?? Praying that someone can take him. He deserves a loving forever home.

I will donate the balance of the TShirt fund drive for his vet care and fostering.

Hmm...maybe he can just come here and get healthy, swim, get some lovin' and attend the Lab Fest in person.

That is great news Joe. I bet once he starts to gain weight, is shown some love and attention he will be a wonderful little fellow. That sweet face...he deserves a good home. I am praying for him that he gets one so he can live a long happy life.
