Baby stopped eating again.
She had been eating scrambled eggs and rice but she stopped eating as much and then last night turned her nose up at it completely. This mornig I tried a little kibble. She sniffed it and then went to her corner in the living room behind the sofa. She came back for her cracker but dropped it and walked away. I had been putting a lot of peanut butter on it, plus her meds. I transferred the meds, put less PB on the cracker and added a top cracker. After two attempts she did eat it.

She appears to be interested in eating. But she does not eat. Plus she does not drink much water. I have not seen her have a bowel movement in a day, and she only urinates a little. It does not help matters it has been raining and thundering since yesterday afternoon.

The last time Baby was at the vet's last week she weighed 54.4 after a steady decline. The vet has no idea what is wrong. Blood work was normal except for the crea something. He saw nothing in her mouth out of the ordinary, and could feel nothing out of place elsewhere. She shows no distress, no vomiting, no obvious signs of pain. I took the kids for a weight while running errands yesterday morning. She weighed 55.7.

She looks good. Her eyes are bright she is interested in her surroundings, and made it clear yesterday she was going gofering. Twice. She is just not eating or drinking.

I am waiting for the vet to return this morning's call.

he has done blood work I take it

have you done xrays yet? that's usually the next step ... then perhaps ultrasound or other diagnostic testing

the fact she's gained some weight in a week might be a good sign - though if she hasn't been eating at all it may not be

I'm glad you've called the vet - hoping they have some answers

There have been two blood draws,
several urine checks and two urine cultures
He has done an ultra sound of her abdomin
She ate some of the first rice and scrambled eggs and ate more each meal until yesterday. I was thrilled she had gained weight. The fact she is not eating the PB crackers tells me something is going on as she isuaually a land shark.

Is she on any antibiotics or anything? Since Indy had his surgery, he's been on antibiotics for over a week, they make him lose his appetite...I have to get super creative to make it appetizing....I had to get gravy, not just any gravy mind you, Kentucky Fried Chicken gravy....Or..he likes scrambled eggs, but they have to have cheese in them.....My old baby boy has been losing lots of weight this year too, so far they've chucked it up to old age, that and muscle wasting...last night he had a lil bit of vanilla yogurt ice cream with his antibiotics sprinkled in it...

I hope baby girl perks up with her eating soon...

You have checked her teeth and mouth for anything amiss? Check the roof of her mouth for anything that might be stuck in/on her upper palette?

I hope whatever is wrong is discovered soon!

I would be worried too. Prayers they can find the problem.

An internal specialist would be my next step.

I know the idea of exploratory surgery can be scary but it saved my girls life.

She had an ultrasound which showed fluid in the abdomin. No appetite, fever, vomitting.

Surgery revealed a ruptured gallbladder. Her GB went bad (black and green) and this dog was only 3 1/2. Rare in a dog so young.

My first thoughts exactly.

Poor Baby Girl, Andy. I hope they can figure it out and get her better!

Continued good thoughts. I hope your vet can find out what is wrong. Are you near a big vet school? I would try them.
