i have a wonderful 3 almost 4 year old yellow lab. i have finally talked my wife into breeding her for puppies. i believe my "claire" will make some wonderful puppies. my problem is finding a male close by and not know where to look for one. i found this forum with google and i have just started looking for resources. if you have any suggestions or comments please post. I am located in NC Also i have the akc prepaid paper to register claire but the breeder didnt do something required so i cant register her ?? i plan to ask them to finish whatever has to be done but if that doesnt work out i am not sure i can get papers for the puppies - not a huge deal on my part but it would be nice. thanks for any suggestions

Those papers not being filled out correctly would be a red flag for me. When obtaining out 3rd female Lab we ended up way back in the woods with what looked like a shack, we were a little scared, the smell was bad, the shack was dirty and we were ready to leave but something made us stay. Then she brought out a beautiful black female (a little thin) we spent a few hours with her and decided to take her. Now the paper work- to my amazement she had everything in order and I mean everything. She also had the paper work from the parents and grandparents. Jett is now 4 1/2 and 1 of our best Labs, loving and listens as much as a Lab will. Good Luck.

start with health testing and genetic testing... get hip and elbows tested and rated... have all the paper work in good order. Just cause you love your doggie doesn't necessarily mean you should breed her.
