I took Laddie outside to brush him today and found he has hurt himself somehow. It is about 1 inch long and maybe half an inch wide. My best guess is he has scratched his back on something. The skin and hair is gone and it is open and red. Sort of like if you would fall and scrape your knee. My question is do I put anything on it, like neosporin? Or do I leave it alone? I tried to take pics to put up, but he won't hold still :frown:

It is hard to say without actually seeing it. I use Neosporin on my girls. but I would watch for any signs of infection & if it looks red, warm or has drainage, he may need to see the vet. Hope it is just a minor scrape that heals.

I too have used Neosporin but I also have a topical spray that I got at the Vet for treating minor scrapes.
