I opened a package of bone meal for plants yesterday and put some around a couple of plants. My JRT was with me and is now claiming ownership to these plants. Reba too is very curious about the ground around the plants. Much to Halle's dismay. Has anyone used bone meal for bulb and rose fertilizer? I never gave it a thought that bone meal might attract the dogs. They are pawing at the dirt, but not really digging.

I used to use bone meal and blood meal until I caught my last lab eating it. Now I only use compost and rotted manure.

I'm thinking that bone meal might not be such a good idea!! Well rotted horse manure is something I have plenty of and use often.

I put bone meal down once when Belle was baout a year old. When I let her out of the house she barked and growled at the area until I put her back in the house. Not sure what was going through her mind!
