I'm in the Southwestern Ontario area and wondering if anyone else's lab is blowing their coat right now?

Piper is shedding like crazy and the fur is just coming off in clumps when I pet her. She had surgery 2 weeks ago and was obviously stressed when she came home and I could easily pull the hair off of her. Shortly after that I changed her food from Wellness Rice and Venison to Wellness Lamb Super Health.

Anyway, she is still shedding like crazy and the hair is coming off in my hands and I'm trying to figure out if it is the food, just a change from her surgery or just blowing coat.

Thanks!

Anesthesia can cause that to happen but this is also shed season so your probably hitting both.
ALL my Labs are blowing coat. YIPPEE! Lily is just starting to go into full blow the rest have been for a few weeks.

Hello from a fellow southwestern ontarian! :)

Baloo never really seems to "blow" his coat, sheds moderately overall, really. Maybe I'm just lucky?

I have never seen her shed this bad but it sounds like it's just a crazy season for blowing her coat. I could have created another 2 or 3 large dogs after our brushing season today. I'm just glad it's probably not entirely the food! I don't want to have to look at switching again!!
