We are about 1 1/2months away from this but had a preview this weekend!! If you have once had an empty nest, then had children re-appear for whatever reason, you know what I mean! I love both my kids dearly, am so glad to help them out and love spending time with them, but........ I love having time with DH, and I want my house back!!! Selfish maybe, but oh well!! DD graduated from college last week, and DS is out of the Academy in 6 weeks, whoohoo! They will be off living their life. I am so proud of them both!! Our plan is to sell the house and down size so they cant come back!!:D:D

I think most of us love our kids (adult), enjoying spending time with them, etc. BUT NO ONE SAID WE WANT TO LIVE WITH THEM FOREVER!

We have three of them out on their own, making families, and providing us with the most valuable enjoyable visits. Yep! Visits are GOOD. Moving back in is BAD!

Di you don't have to sell the house and move, that's a lot of work. Rita and I have hobbies that require we gather up lots of stuff, no room for the kids any more although there is one small room we left enough room for the grandkids to spend a day or so.:D

My parents did the same thing. My bedroom became my mom's sewing room, my brother's room became my dad's hunting/fishing storeage room, and my sister's room became a playroom for the grandkids (complete with really uncomfortable futons). You don't have to move, just get more stuff!

Well Glen thats just a secondary gain:D Our plan has always been to sell, downsize and move to a different area, somewhere sunnier:D

love my grown boys dearly but don't want them back at home. oldest son was here for awhile and i was so happy when he went back to his condo. we have turned their rooms into a craft room and a cat room. (yep, the cats have their own room now !!!)
the boys only live about 2 miles away and we see them alot but love when they go back home. husband even talked about downsizing the other day and moving, too !! that was a real surprise but i am all for it. maybe we will be neighbors in central oregon, di !!!!
