I love crab dip. There are only a couple restaurants around here that I know of that have it. Last week on vacation we could get it anywhere. (I ate so much seafood last week, I'm surprised I didn't sprout gills. I miss it.)

I'd like a good recipe so I can just make it myself whenever the urge strikes. (every other day)

I have a great crab appetizer (serve w/bread or crackers)

simple dimple, makes lots. I do 1/2 recipe

2 cups crab meat
2 cups mayo
2 cups canned artichoke hearts (not marinated, roughly chopped)
2 cups grated parmesan cheese
1 onion thinly sliced
paprika
lemon wedges

combine ingredients (except paprika) and spread about 1 inch deep in shallow ovenproof casserole or baking pan. Sprinkle top w/paprika.
Place under broiler and set on high until top is brown and bubbly.

serve w/good quality bread and lemon wedges. serves 16 as an appetizer

(add worchestershire sauce and/or horseradish if desired)

I have two cheese/crab dip recipes. Were you looking for a non-cheese recipe?

OK one of my recipes is the one Wendy B posted in the recipe section so now I only have one to offer up! :D

I have used both of these...good & easy to make.

EASY HOT CRAB DIP
1 small onion
1 can crab meat (drained)
1 large package cream cheese

In a food processor, finely chop onion, add cream cheese, pulse to process again.
Add crab meat and quickly process for a few seconds.
Dill weed and paprika may be added for extra color.
Place in a pie pan type dish and bake at 350F for approximately 20-25 minutes or until well heated through.
Serve with crackers. Variation: Shrimp may be used instead of crab.

And this one:

HOT CRAB DIP 2 (8 oz.) pkg. softened cream cheese
1 c. grated sharp cheese
1/2 tsp. lemon juice
4 heaping tbsp. mayonnaise
1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
3 shakes garlic
1 lb. crabmeat

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Mix all ingredients except crabmeat. Add crabmeat. Place in a greased casserole dish. Sprinkle cheese on top. Bake at 350 degrees for 30-45 minutes or until warm and bubbly.

This is my favorite crab dip. It is spicy but I usually don't use the pickled jalapenos because the pepper jack cheese does the trick.

Spicy Crab Dip
* 1 pound lump crabmeat
* 1 teaspoon chopped garlic
* 1/2 cup chopped pickled jalapenos
* 1/4 pound Monterey Jack cheese with jalapenos, grated
* 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
* 1 teaspoon hot sauce
* 1/2 teaspoon salt
* 1/2 cup mayonnaise
* 2 ounces Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese, grated

Directions

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Combine the crabmeat, garlic, jalapenos, Monterey Jack, Worcestershire, hot sauce, salt, and mayonnaise in a medium-size mixing bowl. Toss gently to mix. Spoon the mixture into a medium-size mixing bowl. Sprinkle the Parmesan cheese evenly on the top of the crabmeat mixture. Bake until golden brown and bubbly, about 25 minutes. Remove from the oven and let sit for about 5 minutes before serving.
