My husband and I have a 1.5 year old chocolate Lab. Her name is Ruger. She's spayed and she's such a great girl! We've decided we'd like to add another Lab to our family. We wanted to wait until Ruger was a little more mature. So we wouldn't have the difficult task of raising two puppies at once.
We now feel that we're ready, since Ruger finished her basic puppy training (and some extra's) with flying colors. We think she'll set a great example for a new pup. We are soo excited to be getting this little girl. She's a black Lab and she'll be ready to come home on Monday. The problem is that we don't have a name picked out for her yet. Anyone have any suggestions?

I don't know which names you might already have on your list but here are a couple more. Raven, Ebony, or maybe something from Scottish or British roots like Claire, Meggie, or Kate? Once you get her home and try some of your favorite names, you will find one that fits her perfectly. Congrats on your new addition. Ruger will be so happy to have a playmate that walks on all four legs too. Don't forget the pictures!

Thanks for your suggestions. We didn't really have a list or ideas for names. We're so excited that she'll be coming home tomorrow. Guess we could see what her personality is like too, before deciding.

I really do like the name Raven and it would fit her color well! But my husband and I agreed on Abby. It's a sweet name for a very sweet little girl. By the way, Ruger loves having her new little playmate! Thank you all for your responses!

Oh my goodness - I am so sorry - you said "she" in two separate posts and I still tried to make her into a "he"!!

Rugar will make a good big sister and show little Abby how to get the good treats out of Mom and Dad. She really is a cutie. Congrats again.
