go into the shelter with a carrier in the truck and empty space in the back ...

came home with a 9 week old black and white medium haired kitten who has a heart murmur and wasn't going up for adoption

and a chinchilla (and his huge house)

both need names and I need to find them homes .. or do a lot of reading - placing them just sounds easier

There is no way I could go into a shelter. I would be coming home with a puppy, kitty and a bunny. I just know it.

I quite regularly manage to walk out of shelters without animals for my house ... however this kitten is freakin hilarious - she has no idea she's sick - she's tearing around the living room right now chasing the dogs (poor long suffering dogs)

she's black and white -quite attractively marked with a black smudge on her nose and a totally white tail tip .. the vet wants to call her Tippy - but that's not happening

same vet named the chinchilla Chucky mind you - so perhaps she's cut off naming suggestions
The chinchilla is pretty cool - they are a fairly nervous prey animal but this little guy is easy to handle and actually comes for scritches through the cage bars ... he was abandoned in an apartment - and found the shelter so stressful he stopped eating

That is the very reason I don't go to shelters. I know I would bring something home! And the reality of it is I am at a balance with my brood!
