Already worried...good thoughts/prayers please? Macy spay tomorrow...

I've never had a female before so I've never gone through the spay experience. I'm a nervous wreck already.
She was so scared at the vet the last time I brought her in (the only time she's been there)....
I'm hoping and praying for a small incision - they said the less fat she has, the smaller the incision would be. Anyway, I drop her off tomorrow morning around 8:30 and hopefully she'll be in surgery by 9. Please, if you could spare any good thoughts or prayers, I would be eternally grateful.

*sigh*

:( Sending my prayers for her...please, please let us know how she does (((HUGS)))
You got it Amy. Most spays are routine, until it's your dog in there. I'll be thinking good thoughts and praying for a good result and a quick surgery. Just remember to have her take it easy until those stitches are out. Lots of crate time if you can't keep her quiet.
I'm taking Friday off so I can keep an eye on her, so I won't be back online until Monday. I'll be able to update about the surgery before I leave here tomorrow afternoon. I hope.
Sending good thoughts for Mace Face. Hope everything goes well.

That's another thing that scares me. Keep her quiet?! She's a freak if she doesn't get her 3, oops now 2, walks a day. I'll have to stock up on frozen kongs and freezer bones and such.
Good thoughts for the Mace Face.

Quick successful surgery and a speedy recovery.

(Zoë had hers done on a Friday, and by Tues or Wed we were back at obedience classes)
We'll be praying for you, but don't worry, she'll be fine.

...and Amy, the first 5 minutes at classes is a free for all run and play session. She was doing bitey face, and was fine.

The only thing she couldn't do was go to the beach for 10 days.

(another dog owner said shiitake mushrooms, hamburger and yogurt help the healing process...don't know if you'd like to try or how much of that is true, but I gave some to Zoë)
It was no problem keeping Kacey quiet the first two days. When I picked her up, she got IN the car, but she wouldn't get OUT when we got home. Jason had to come out, pick her up and carry her inside. =) The next day she was pretty mellow too.

Good luck!

(When Kacey still had her stitches the back part of our backyard flooded. She got away from us and took off running at full speed and starting splashing in the flood water. I freaked out. It was the weekend of course, so I called the emergency vet. They said to just keep an eye on the incision. She was no worse for wear. My heart got a jolt though. )

I can Macy doing that!! Oh crap, I guess I'll have to leash her in the backyard then, huh? I didn't think of that. That should be fun at 3 in the morning.
Good thoughts for Mace Face!!! Simba was quiet the day of and the following day only. By day 3 she was back to her usual crazy girl. The incision was quite big, so don't panic, but now you can't even see it. She was spayed at 6 mos. exactly as I wasn't taking any chances with an intact male in our house. Now's she's my chunky monkey! :-*
She'll do fine! She probably won't feel good for a day or so, but then she'll be back to her regular self. Ivy was impossible to keep calm and she jumped everywhere, despite my best efforts to keep her a little more grounded. She did have some swelling at the incision site but it went down after a few weeks and the actual incision was absolutely fine. I think it's really harder on us than anything.
I'm so glad I posted this. I feel a bit better already.
THANK YOU THANK YOU!!
:-*
Will be thinking of you. Good thoughts on the way.
Good thoughts here - let her take in a pair of hubby's drawers as a security blanky!

HA!
I'm glad you can take Friday off. It will be great reassurance for both of you!
(I love what Laura said about it being a routine procedure until it's your girl having it done!)
