Okay so my car just hit the 30K mark.. My poor car just turned 3 in October.

Anyways, I just got my oil changed, tires rotated, etc and my mechanic (my friend, who is a certified VW specialist) told me I'm up for new tires in 2-3 thousand miles. Maybe that's why my car has been handling like crap in the snow...!

Since when do tires crap out at 30K? Is it the Michigan roads, perhaps?? :suspious:

So I'm going to be in need of some all season tires pretty soon, any recommendations? I'd like to go for some tires that are on the inexpensive side, but I want something that's going to stand up well to Michigan roads and snow.

Have a look at Nokian WR all weather tires.. they're actually certified winter tires, but you don't have to take them off in the spring.. they're year round tires that preform better in snow and ice.

i just put all season's on my VW rabbit. my husband and i found the best deals on tirerack.com. i can't remember the brand name but thought i would mention the site. when i got them (shipped UPS), i went to the dealer and had them put on. they do a great job in the snow and i live in NE ohio in the secondary snowbelt.

I really like the set of Yokohama tires on my minivan. Really like. I think this is my 2nd or 3rd winter with them and I haven't felt any slippage with them when driving on ice and snow. I really, really like them.
