He wont eat his brekkie, last night he had a slight cough but thats stopped now. He wont even eat a treat! But is ok in himself...laying on his bed but will come for a fuss and wag his tail. Should I walk him or let him rest? Should I keep trying to feed him? Cant get a vet til tomorrow :(

I wouldn't keep trying to feed him. When he feels good enough to eat, he will. I'd be more concerned about him drinking water. I'd leave him be, but watch him for other symptoms. Maybe he had too much Christmas cheer!

Hey, I'm no expert! I just treat my dogs the way I would treat a child that doesn't feel well. Sometimes, they just need to catch up on their rest, I think. Libby is getting like that as she gets older. If she's had a very busy day outside or we go camping for the weekend, she will sleep for two days. She'll get up to eat and pee and that's about it. At first I thought there was something wrong, but now I don't get so worried about it. Now, that's as long as everything else is normal. No vomitting, diahrea, etc.

Aww poor Alfie. I would keep an eye on him, as you are obviously doing since you noticed he's not being himself. If he doesn't eat breakfast it won't kill him, but if he doesn't eat for more than a day or so, is being lethargic, and not drinking either, then I might be worried. Abbey will be sleepy for a day or so after we are at home when all she does is play nonstop with my parents' dog, so it happens.

Hopefully Alfie feels better soon!
