Dozer has been here a week now and things are going great. The biggest problem I have with him is his puppy biting, which I know he'll outgrow. We don't allow him to do it, he gets corrected when he does it, but it's a puppy thing, so I'm not concerned. He'll catch on.

Things I have learned about Dozer in the last week are:

  • He is a lap dog.
  • He likes to take a mouthful of food, walk away from his bowl and then chew and swallow it.
  • He is extremely intelligent.
  • Retrieving comes naturally to him, which isn't a shock because his parents are field dogs, but he oh how he loves to bring me stuff.
  • He is velcro.
  • He has a terrible attraction to rocks ... we have now de-rocked the backyard.
  • He leaves tiny purple bruises when he pinches me with his front teeth.
  • The smell of salt and vinegar chips drives him insane.
  • He naps a lot.
  • He likes ice cubes.
  • He is sweet and such a love.
  • Already he is loyal.
  • He watches television.
  • He has a mighty bark.

While he loves all three of my kids, he really is quite smitten with our youngest. They are practically inseperable.

Dozer says "Hey kid, can I have a sip too?"

Catch me if you can!

Time to relax.

Oooh, a car ride!

He is absolutely adorable (so is your son). It reminds me of when we brought our golden home. My oldest son was 2, and they would run around playing and chasing each other. It would tire them both out. ;) They were the best of friends!

Two cute blondes! Those are great pictures. I love the one where Dozer is checking the "engine" for your son!

Now those pictures will make even the gumpiest person smile. They are both heartbreakers! I see a BFF relationship growing there for sure. Little kids and puppies are always a winner! Congratulations again. (Sorry about the rock attraction. Abbey and Coco had that for a while at first too. Abbey is over it but we have to watch Coco sometimes still.) Dozer is doing great! Keep the pictures coming! :)

those pictures are so heartwarming... they look like such great mates already. I bet they grow up inseparable and you'll always have these pictures to show your son when he's older. Dozer appears to be the perfect new family member for you!

Don't stop posting pictures!!!! He's just such a cute little guy!
