I always see those post's asking, What are your weekend plans. Here is a pretty standard rescue weekend for me. By the way, rescue does not take holidays, so I could even end up doing something on Easter.

OK, lets see if I can figure this all out.

Thursday morning I will be picking up the 5 lab pups I just agreed to take
from a kill shelter in NC. Amy will be transporting them and will call when
she gets back in Pittsburgh. Amy and Marilyn will be pulling ALL the dogs
and cats in the NC. pound before they are put down on Thursday morning.

Thursday afternoon I will drive to Cabela's in WV. and meet the transport
for a young chessie that is going to Sandie at NY Chessie Rescue.

Thursday evening I have a family coming to adopt Sierra.

Friday morning, load up KY. chessie and Jocko and Kelso who will be going to
their forever homes in MA. and Scranton respectively.

Drive to Bald Eagle PA. where I will meet Jill who is pulling Hank from Ann
Arundal Humane Society in Baltimore. Hank will be going to Sandie in NY also
if he is a chessie. If Hank is a lab he will stay with me and live out his
life here in my home. The Humane Society does not allow pictures of their
dogs, so Jill was not 100% sure if he is a chessie or a lab. The only thing
we know is he is 10+ years old, may have some eye problems and has
arthritis. THANK YOU so much to Jill for pulling Hank so I don't have to add
driving to Baltimore to my list for the day!!!

From here on to Williamsport PA. where I will meet Sandie and transfer the
KY. dog and possibly Hank.

Back down to I-80 and on to the Scranton area. I will meet Carrianne there
and deliver Kelso to his forever family. Then meet Cindi and deliver Jocko
to his forever mom. Pick up Max the American Bulldog mix that needs to go
back to his rescue in Green County PA.

I head for home, about 350 miles from Scranton. Settle Max in and maybe Hank
for the night.

Saturday morning I contact Green County and find out where Jane wants Max to
go. Probably drive him the 200 mile round trip down to her shelter.

Spend the rest of Saturday and most of Sunday napping and recovering from
the run.

You got your hands full! Endless thank yous for getting these dogs pulled to either be with you or in a home environment. I have a feeling the big man upstairs looks down on you with a big smile on his face for all you do. Thank you Joe for helping so many lab find their way home.

Wow. What a weekend. It must be so hard, but very rewarding when you find a good home.

I used to own a backpacking, camping shop in a small village and people used to ask me all the time to give kittens and puppies away for them. I just couldn't say no. Mostly because I was afraid of what would happen to the poor things if I didn't take them. I would stand outside my shop with the babies in a box and give them away. I always gave my business card with them and told them to call me if it didn't work out. I only got one back. I was very careful who I gave them to. They also got gift certificates to have them spayed/neut. from my vet.

In the spring it was amazing how many times we would come to work and just find a box of kittens waiting at our door. It would make me so mad. I'm glad I don't have to deal with that anymore. People are stupid.

I hear ya Joe.

Hubby's been asking for a Lab Rescue free weekend for a while now - you think he'll ever figure out that those just don't exist any more? :)

The more they ask, the less likely it is to happen Dina ;D

Every time Barb says no more dogs for a while, we get swamped. I think she has learned not to say anything.

Are you up for a visit when I come to Texas next month? I will be meeting Andrew in Dallas one day, but I am sure we could change that to near your area.

I'm up for one but I really can't head up that way - but let me know if you're coming further south to H-town.

Thank you for your tireless efforts.

People like you gave people like me my 3 girls, and there are simply no words to express what that means.

And I thought my schedule was bad, with 386 church services to supply music for between now and Easter Sunday afternoon...........

Travel safely, Joe. And let the Bunny know where to forward your eggs -- he's not even going to be able to FIND you!!
