Calli hasnt had an accident in the house (on my watch) in a very long time. SU left her go a bit too long when I first went back to work and she did go.

Thats beside the point tho. Three times now since she has been in heat she pee'd in her pants. WTH?

The first time it happened I thought , Ok my bad, I wasnt paying attention. No, not the case. I have taken her out alot lately and again she went tonight.

I hate to think it but I guess she could get a UTI again from having th pants on right? Or is this just maybe a wierd heat thing happening?

Either way if it happens again, Im going to have to take a sample to the vet. Any advice welcome. Im tired of washing peepee pants

I think it might be likely that she has an UTI in result of her heat. Someone more knowledgeable will hopefully chime in. But, from what I understand, when a female goes into heat her vaginal passageway changes and may allow bacteria to come within. Therefore, a greater risk of an UTI.

Our female had her first (and only) UTI when she was at the tag end of her first season.

Does Callie's urine have a foul, or strong-cented, odor?

She had two back to back when I brought her home. But she isnt peeing like that. When she had them she seemed to pee all the time.

She does have a strong odor about her. But I read that could be normal while they are in heat?

Ah, better safe than sorry I guess. I will more than likely take a sample in this monday.

It is very probably a UTI. When I had my Great Danes, my female always got a UTI when she was in season. Having the pants on, keeping that area warm and moist, is an invitation for bacteria to grow and invade the inner regions.

Abby had her only UTI at the end of her heat cycle. Even though I changed the pad in her panties frequently, our vet said it could harbor bacteria & cause a UTI.

I never puts "panties" on Emilu - I would follow her around and clean up after her (what was I thinking?) but she never got a UTI either.
