This past weekend was the UKC Premier. I had Belle, Kodi, Hoss and Red entered Thursday in a Special Exhibition of Total Retrievers in two Specialties. They each received very nice medallions and plaques for their achievements (Having a conformation title and an obedience and/or hunt title).
On Friday Kodi was in All Stars Novice and got a 197.5 but was just out of the placements. Also on Friday, Hoss and Kodi started their UKC Rally career and each received a perfect 100 score, but were not in the placements.
On Saturday both Kodi and Hoss were right on. In Rally, each received another perfect 100 and their second leg. In Novice, surprising the heck out of me, Hoss got a first place in a class of 37 dogs, and winning a run off!!!! That was his first Novice leg. Not bad for a dog that I swore that I would never put back in the obedience ring! Kodi did well also and took 2nd place in Open B for her first Open leg.
On Sunday, after three LONG days at the shows, both dogs were very tired However, both Kodi and Hoss got their URO1 titles with another round of perfect 100 scores. At that point though, Hoss went a little hormonal and while he qualified in Novice it was with a 180.5, loosing 10.5 points in the off lead heeling. Apparently three was a really cute hairy dog outside of the ring and Hoss was star struck. Numerous lags, a repeated command and hitting the end of the leash more than once. Two Novice legs! Kodi, did well in heeling, but those danged crooked fronts and finishes cost us points. She qualified with for her second Open leg with a 194.5.
A very long but successful weekend!
