where there are turkey vultures, there are dead things.

last time I saw them on the ground on our walks, it was a moose carcass.

what were they after Laura?

We had two of those in our backyard once, perched on the swingset. ~shudder~

Dead groundhog in the woods. I know it was there because we put it there. Back when Kacey was killing them and we were tossing them in the woods.

My old office has a family of them that return every spring. There would often be four to six of them on the patio outside the cafeteria, spreading their wings and enjoying the sunshine. They like to perch on the roof of the building, because from there they can survey farm fields and a good distance of the road for both directions. They would peck at the reflections in the glass walls and scare the crap out of me when I'd be sitting in there alone. Sounded just like someone knocking on the glass with a ring or hard object!

We have a section of town along an ould railway right a way where there are a few hundred that nest. Sometimes I see dozens of them on the way to work soaring, looking.

I like watching them when there's a bunch of them circling around high in the sky. They're cool to watch just soaring above.
