This is what I was doing at this point last year. Time goes sooooooooooo slow.
You can say that again!
We are going to set up his crate soon so the kids get used to his space, and so the cats can get used to it being around. We have already talked to them (the kids, not the cats) about not bothering the pup while he is in there. The two oldest are pretty good about following instructions, but the youngest (who will be 21 months old when pup comes home) is in love with animals. He is as gentle as a 21 month old can be and talks very softly to animals, where as the rest of the time he uses his outdoor voice ... we're going to have to be very diligent with him in teaching him the crate is the pup's special space, and make sure that he is ALWAYS supervised by an adult when playing with the pup (we already do that when he plays with our cats, so we're well practiced). We'll do fine, I'm sure. It'll be great!
YAY!
