    DefaultYard training

We recently got a 1 1/2 old male yellow lab and he is a handful when it comes to the outdoors. I have been able to teach him the basics of Leash training and is getting better about heeling, but if he is off his leash, he goes sprinting!! Thank god i am cross country runner, because without that, I would never be able to catch him. The GOlden retriever we had before him learned quickly to never leave the yard. We taught her with an invisible fence, but we no longer are able to use it. How can we keep him from running off the first chance he gets out the door?
