When, what age do puppies typically lose their puppy teeth and beging to get their adult teeth?
How long does this go on, from start to completion?
They normally start loosing them between 4-5 months old and can last a month or two depending on your dog. Mocha lost most of hers within the first month then the back molers came out a little later if I remember correctlly.
Do they just fall out, or do the permanent teeth push them out, i.e. will there be empty spaces until the permanent teeth come through? Just curious...
i've taken pictures for you - will upload them shortly!
basically she has little red holes where her teeth used to be but if u look closely on some, you can see the whites of the other tooth under the gum, so the new tooth has pushed the puppy tooth out i guess.

Great question, as I was just thinking the same thing!
sorry for the delay in the pictures but i lost my camera cable to the PC thing to download the pics. Anyway this is what Milly's mouth looked like after she'd just lost her first front top two teeth:
and this is what it looks like today:
so you can see that it doesn't take very long for her new teeth to start poking through - and the new ones are so much bigger than the others... it looks sort of funny sometimes when you can see them!
Great pics... sure Milly loved posing for them
