I am looking to buy a crate for my lab before I bring her home. I'm wondering what size (or measurements) I should get. I would like to get one crate for the life of the dog, and will plan to quarter off the back section of the crate until the dog gets the appropriate size.
I assume I'll need a large or X-Large, any ideas? I'm getting a female and the sire is approximately 55 lbs.
I have a 42" double door crate for the house and a 36" crate for the car...
I would say the large size would be big enough.
I have a Large, and it fits my 70 lb dog very well!

thats great to hear, I was planning on getting an XL just cause thats the size on all of them listed for labradors. Anyone have a Large that IS NOT big enough for your lab?
we have a large (42"), and it's nice and roomy for our 75lb boy, so you should probably be fine with a large.

Ok, the large I looked at today was only 36", probably not big enough?
I wouldn't think the 36" would be big enough.
I'd get a 42" if I were you.
