I want to order a first aid book for dogs, and was wondering if there is one out there specifically for Labs. I want to know what to do in an emergency situation, like choking, etc. I have seen some books, but would like a very thorough one.......any recommendations? Thanks!
I don't know any off hand, but check out the best advice thread. I think Bob. Pr. has some recommendations

I have this book by Bruce Fogle:
It covers medical conditions, diseases and disorders, skeletal problems, what to do in emergencies, etc. I have found this very useful for "diagnosing" (unofficially of course -- I am not a vet) problems. Thanks to this book I realised the signs one of my dogs was showing when he had an intestinal blockage.
Thanks you guys. I just went on Amazon.com and ordered two books. One is The Dog Owners Home Veterinary Handbook and the other one I forget the title but it's a first aid and how to recognize symtoms kind of guide. I had a little scare yesterday with my little lab, who was gagging on something, I think some kind of grass and it scared the you-know-what out of me!! And I watch her LIKE A HAWK when we are in the yard. I want to be able to react correctly next time, instead of feeling the sheer panic I felt yesterday! Thanks for your responses!
